Top 3 Accessorizing Tips for the Holidays

Posted on November 09 2015

The holidays are fast approaching and this means you've got to bring your festive self to all the parties and events you'll be attending.

One thing is for sure - it can be exhausting trying to figure out how to look smashing. You're busy enough with all the gift buying, cookie baking (or ordering), holiday decorating and party planning to even think about what to wear.

So, here are a few quick and easy tips to make your holiday dressing less stressful.

1.  Think Bling!

Holiday is all about the sparkle, so add some bling to your little black (or blue or red) dress with some holiday-inspired jewelry.

Sparkles aren't reserved for jewelry alone.  When it comes to blinging out your outfit, try these tips: wear sparkly shoes and carry a gold lame handbag.  Add vintage shoe clips to your pumps or purse or make a festive belt out of satin ribbon and a vintage rhinestone brooch.

2.  Bring out your Special Pearls

Pearls are always in style and this year you'll see more statement necklaces made from baroque and keishi pearls.

You can kick it up a notch by layering your pearls with a rhinestone or Swarovski crystal necklace for added Wow-appeal.

3.  Go Bold or Go Home

The holidays are the perfect time to stand out in the crowd.  Festive times call for festive colors like cherry red, fuscia pink, kelly green, royal blue and deep purple, etc.

Wearing bold colors requires a bolder makeup palette, too.  But, don't overdue it.  If you want to play up your eyes with a bright eye shadow and dark lashes, then go with a softer, neutral lipstick and vice versa.  If you are going bold and bright with your lipstick, then tone down your eyes with a softer eye shadow.

If It Doesn't Make You Feel Joyful, Don't Wear It!

The holidays are a time for joy-filled celebrations with friends and family.  Its a time to sparkle and shine and be your best self.  Getting dressed for a party should be fun - if its not, then you need to re-evaluate your choices.  When you look in the mirror at the finished product, you should feel joyful and beautiful and ready to shine.  Wear clothes that allow you to eat, dance, breathe, be yourself and throw your had back in raucous laughter.  Most of all, be sure that whatever you choose to wear makes you smile because that is the best accessory of all.

I liked that you pointed out that it might be fun to wear rhinestones with your pearls. That does seem like a great thing to have if you want to have a classy look. It does seem like a good thing to be considering when you want to look nice. https://northeasternimporting.com/product-category/mc-flat-back/mc-triangle/
